CHC / TORONTO
The Canadian Hispanic Congress (CHC) denounces the violent actions of the Honduran Armed Forces against the civilian population congregated in the vicinity of the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa where ousted president Manuel Zelaya is staying.
The  Canadian Hispanic Congress further denounces the acts of military repression against the civilian population including the use of tear gas and pepper spray, use of rubber bullets against unarmed civilians, illegal searches and seizures, physical assaults, beatings, and illegal detentions that are used against anyone perceived as supportive of the Honduran president Manuel Zelaya.

We call on the Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs to unequivocally denounce the military violence against the civilian population of Honduras and to demand the return of President Manuel Zelaya to the presidency of the country.
